Economic advice in fisheries management: A trilouge between science, administration and stakeholders

 

On the 4th and 5th of february 2016 the European Commission hosts a conference about the economic side of fisheries as well as the role of the processing industry. Commissioner Karmenu Vella will open the talks. 

 

The role of stakeholders in generating this economic advice becomes increasingly important, with new actors becoming part of the processes resulting in the production of this advice.The conference address the concerns of fisheries administrators, scientists and stakeholders in particular from the fishing industry and competent NGOs.

The conference shall endeavour to foster a broad dialogue between users and providers of economic advice.
